About the restaurant
Fifteen floors above the city atop Radisson RED Auckland, Aka Rooftop claims the title of Australasia's largest open-air rooftop bar, 800 square metres of deep reds, velvet seating and 260-degree views taking in the Sky Tower and harbour. A retractable roof means the sun-soaked lunch crowd and the moody, illuminated-tree evening scene both happen rain or shine. Head Chef Edberg Loh, formerly of Marina Bay Sands, runs a pan-Asian menu built on hawker tradition: tuna tartare, prawn har gaw and Tokyo fried chicken lead into kung pao chicken and a comforting Thai roast curry.
