About the restaurant
It's perfect for
A first-year Michelin Bib Gourmand worth chasing down.
You need to try
Chef Sid Chopra's take on a dish from a lesser-known Indian region.
Look out for
The character of the heritage building it's housed in.
GOAT by Sid Chopra skips the usual butter-chicken-and-naan script entirely, digging into lesser-known regional Indian dishes most Auckland diners won't have tried before. Chef Sid Chopra, who built his reputation at Prego before striking out on his own, runs the kitchen from a characterful heritage building in the CBD. The restaurant picked up a Michelin Bib Gourmand in the 2026 guide, on top of a One Hat rating from the Cuisine Good Food Guide in its very first year open. A genuinely exciting pick for anyone bored of the same old Indian menu.
