About the restaurant
Vinyl runs floor to ceiling at Kemuri Hi-Fi, a Tokyo-style jazz kissa in the basement of Commercial Bay, built around great sound and better drinks. Owner and legendary DJ Vishal Vasan spins rare selections from his personal collection on select nights, funk, soul, house and jazz moving through bespoke hi-fi speakers in a room that's intimate and moody. Bartender Jason Clark curates the whisky wall, rare bottles from Japan, Scotland and the US arranged by flavour profile, while cocktails lean playful — think the Melon, tequila, Aperol and Hokkaido melon liqueur. Japanese bar snacks round it out.
