About the restaurant
Tacos are just the beginning at Tacoteca, a family affair run by two couples with a shared love of masa and proper Mexican flavour. Edmundo Farerra brings front-of-house pedigree from La Fuente, while Chef Jean Brito works the kitchen, turning out barbacoa, al pastor and fish tacos alongside antojitos like savoury churros, ceviche and queso fundido. The philosophy is simple: order a few, then a few more. As Aotearoa's first taqueria, cantina and tortilleria of its kind, it delivers tradition with a contemporary twist and tastebuds transported somewhere considerably warmer than home.
