Teppan Dining Bowz

Tucked into Epsom's Greenwoods Corner, Bowz runs a spare, stylish teppan counter where owner-chef Ken Totsukawa, peaked cap and all, works the griddle with real theatre. Wagyu, Nelson king salmon and prawns hit the hotplate to order, while the menu takes playful turns: a teppan caprese of tofu and melted mozzarella, a seaweed-topped cheese pizza, tender roti sujinikomi with flatbread, and a yuzu-ponzu tuna steak that regulars swear by. Save room for the green tea creme brulee. Seating is snug and counter-side, so the show and the smell of the grill are part of the deal. Bring the whole table.
