About the restaurant
Tucked away in Freemans Bay, Yume packs proper izakaya energy into a small, bustling room, the kind of place that feels like a discovery even once everyone knows about it. The BYO wine policy is a genuine drawcard, pairing well against a Fresh is Best sashimi platter of oysters, salmon and tuna, plus a chef's selection of seven daily tsukidashi dishes for anyone going the omakase route. Shareables run to Tokyo chicken wings, beef yukke tartare and Ora King salmon, while crispy chicken karaage, gyoza and aburi sushi that doesn't skimp on fish round out the izakaya plates.
