About the restaurant

Co-owned by award Chef of the Year 2022 Monique Fiso and Katie Monteith,  Hiakai (meaning hungry), in the inner metropolitan suburb of Mount Cook in Wellington is keeping Kai Maori and Polynesian flavours alive. Using indigenous native ingredients and cooking techniques, the degustation menu is unique and intriguing. Reservations for this 30 seater 3 hatted restaurant need to be made well in advance.
